Unique Path adventure to Tsum Valley with Ganesh & Manaslu range of mountains leading to one of the world’s best trekking destination around Tsum Valley of happiness with fabulous scenery everyday on trek from the start to the end of this wonderful exciting adventurous journey in between massive range of world’s 8th highest Mt. Manaslu 8,163 meters high and Ganesh Himal or Yangra at 7,422 meters high, there are three other peaks over 7000 meters and with 14 others over 6,000 meters within its massive range extending towards Northern Tsum valley.

Unique Path cultural and adventurous journey to Tsum Valley with Ganesh & Manaslu range leads to awesome picturesque country in the heart of Mid West Himalaya within Manaslu & Ganesh Himal, well hidden valley between massive Mid West Himalaya surrounded by Sringi Himal in the North, Ganesh Himal towards North West, Bouddha Himal, Himal Chuli massive range of mountains and towards Buri-Gandaki River following all the way to its tributary source at upper Tsum area.

To start this adventurous trek with overland journey to Arughat village through interesting towns, farm lands and villages on this scenic and interesting drive towards Gorkha area at Arughat for overnight stop.

From here following the Buri Gandaki River upstream heading higher leaving the last warmer and sub tropical region towards alpine and cooler temperature area on the mid hills with amazing scenery of rolling green hills, farm villages with world’s 8th Highest Mt. Manaslu including views of another massif Ganesh Himal (Yangra) at 7,422 m / 24,350 ft towards east in the shade of Ganesh Himal &. Manaslu peaks within close distance on route to Tibet border.

As the walk progress reaching the highland country close to the border to Tibet at Chumling 2,386 m, Chokhangparo 3,010 m, Nile 3,361m through Milereppa cave to Mu Gompa 3,700 m, the highest spot of this wonderful trip with rest day at Mu Gompa explore the local village and visit Rachen Gompa 3,240 m, where the way and living style of the locals are similar to Tibet with old Buddhist religion, traditions, culture and customs, around this high country with rest days to observe the local culture and for acclimatization before heading across the highest point of this adventure, and then heading towards complete isolation in the harmony of nature of high snow capped peaks, old culture and traditions .

Tsum in Tibetan known as Beyul Kyimolung which translates ‘Holy Hidden Valley of Happiness’ certainly a holy Himalayan country tucked in the remote isolation of high Himalayan peaks, away from modern civilization a spectacular valley of green hills and valley.

After an exciting and enjoyable time in the high valley of Tsum with memorable and once in a life time experience, heading back to warmer region on the same route to Arughat village, from here a drive leads back to Kathmandu with overwhelming time in the high Himalayan country of Nepal with grand service of Unique Path cheerful and helpful guides and staffs.

  1. Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel. On reaching Kathmandu Tribhuvan international airport where you will be received by our Unique Path staff with hearty welcome and then transfer to respective hotels in the heart of Kathmandu around Thamel area, after refreshing break up, our Unique Path guide will inform on the program regarding hotel, Kathmandu sightseeing and Tsum Valley with Ganesh & Manaslu range trek.
  2. In Kathmandu sightseeing and preparation for the trip. Morning, after breakfast our cultural, city guide will guide will lead you in and around Kathmandu at places of interest and importance, Kathmandu Valley is steeped in history, culture with World Heritage Sites of holy Phasupatinath temple, Boudhanath (Little Tibet), Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple) & monasteries, including old Royal Palaces and courtyard; after an interesting sightseeing back to hotel, afternoon preparation for the trip to Tsum Valley with Ganesh & Manaslu range.
  3. Drive to Arughat 600m - 06 hrs journey. An early morning great interesting journey with a scenic drive away from Kathmandu valley on the main busy road for a while, the drive follows the Prithvi Highway till it reaches at Malekhu a small town near by the river Trisuli, from here drive towards north to Dhading Besi, a mid hill town, from here on the dirt track to reach our first overnight stop at Arughat bazaar, a busy village with shops and stores where the mountain and hill people comes here to buy their local commodities.
  4. Trek to Soti Khola 730 m - 05hrs. From Arughat our first day walk begins following the Buri Gandaki River upstream, passing several scattered farm houses and through sal tree (sorea robusta) forest with fabulous view of Ganesh II at 7,118 m and Ganesh IV 7,104 m. Walking on the gradual path with short ups and down by the Buri Gandaki river then reaching at moderate size village of Arkhet Bazaar, from here the last leg of the journey leads to a steep hill climb to our overnight stop at Soti Khola, this is a small farm village with the small stream nearby known as Soti Khola.
  5. Trek to Machha khola 930 m - 05 hrs. Morning walk leads to a slow descent and towards the river banks with number of small tea shops and coming across mule trains on its way to Machhakhola and beyond, our journey carry’s on using the Nepalese traditional stone paved staircase, then crossing over Nauli Khola (stream) with a view of cascading waterfalls and reaching at Khanigaon. From this small farm village with few hours of walk leads to a bridge over Machha khola after crossing the suspension bridge a short ascent to reach our overnight stop at Machha Khola village, a small settlement with stream for fishing smaller fishes, as this village is named after macha meaning fish river or stream.
  6. Trek to Jagat 1,410 m - 06 hrs. From Macha Khola our morning journey leads along the Buri Gandaki river upstream reaching another small village at Khorla Beshi and then walking on the gradual winding path reaching a place called Tato pani with natural hot spring water near the forested area, after a break here walk leads past Dovan and Yaruphant villages, following the Buri Gandaki River and then crossing a short suspension bridge to Jagat village for overnight stop, a reasonable size village with shops and small guest house and lodge.
  7. Trek to Ekle Bhatti 2,208 m - 06 hrs. Morning walk after breakfast follows the Buri Gandaki River upstream passing several small villages to reach at Sidibas Bazaar, then crossing a small suspension bridge at Nagjet and reaching Philim village, after a break here walk carries on through nice golden farm terrace of wheat, barley and millets and then with a climb on a rocky ridge top all the way reaching our overnight stop at Ekle bhatti a small village with few houses and teahouse with some lodge.
  8. Trek to Chumling 2,386 m - 06 hrs. After breakfast our journey today leaves behind the Manaslu route and the Buri Gandkai River for a week, from here heading towards the mystical Tsum valley the morning walk passes through narrow gorge and leading to the right side then on the downhill walk towards Tsum Valley, as the journey progress the trail further climbs through forest of pines and rhododendron trees and reaching a nice and small Lokpa village, from here crossing a suspension bridge over Lungwa Khola and following the path towards our overnight stop at Chumling village, the first day within Tsum Valley area.
  9. Trek to Chokhangparo 3,010 m - 06 hrs. Being within the Tsum area with great views of snow capped peaks and awesome landscape, after this village our morning walk leads to a gentle descend crossing again the suspension bridge and then towards the opposite bank of Smatiking Khola. This area offers fabulous scenery of Ganesh Himal as the walk leads towards Chokhangparo for overnight stop, after a nice walk of six hours.
  10. Trek to Nile 3,361m via Milarepa cave - 06 hrs. From this traditional Tibetan like village Chokhangparo, our morning start following the path with a gradual climb to a small ridge and a pass, then reaching at Lama-gaon, from here an optional to hike to visit Milarepa cave ( Milarepa a 11th century Tibetan saint, poet and a guru born near Lantang region at Kyarung on the border of Nepal and Tibet) here visit the Chi Pu Gompa. After an interesting time visiting the ancient sites, the walk continues further crossing a suspension bridge to reach our overnight stop at Nile which is last town-village of upper Tsum valley.
  11. Trek to Mu Gompa 3,700m - 04 hrs. After continues trek for a week, today an easy walk to our overnight stop at Mu Gompa, morning starts along the side of Syar River leading up the valley through the Tibetan like landscapes with barren and arid country, the walk leads to a short uphill to our overnight stop at Mu Gompa, afternoon after lunch free for local excursion visiting the monastery or just marvel the surrounding beautiful views. This upper area of Tsum is close to Tibet border.
  12. Rest day at Mu Gompa for local exploration. A rest day at Mu Gompa after a week of trekking and this is the highest point of this wonderful adventure, morning after breakfast an optional hike to explore the vicinity of Mu Gompa which is the largest monastery in the region. This monastery or Gompa located in the highest elevation and in the far northern corner of Tsum valley of Gurkha district, Tsum valley and its villages are rich for its incredible Tibetan culture and traditions.
  13. Trek to Rachen Gompa 3,240 m - 05 hrs. After a wonderful and memorable time in this scenic area of upper Tsum valley, morning walk follows back through Chhule and Phurbe, trekking towards the east bank of the Shiar Khola. Then the nice pleasant walk of about five hours leads to Rachen Gompa for the overnight stop, this monastery which is a nunnery and another largest Gompa of this region.
  14. Trek to Chumling 2,386 m - 06 hrs. Morning walk leads to the same walking trail on leaving Rachen Gompa, then retracing the route via the same path and then with a long descend to Chhokang Paro again, after a break here our walk leads on the path with continue descend and reaching at a bridge over the Sarpu Khola, after crossing the suspension bridge and then continue with downhill walk losing altitude to reach at Chumling village for overnight stop, Chumling a small and nice village with superb views of green hills, valleys and of high staggering snow capped mountains.
  15. Trek to Philim 1,590 m - 07 hrs. After this nice village ending the trip to mystical Tsum valley, as the walk continues losing altitude towards warmer area, then following the river to Lokpa village, after a nice break here, walk continues on the gradual downhill overlooking most beautiful waterfalls, and the villages of Samba, Tingding Chhupyang till our overnight stop is reached at Philim village. This farm village with a primary school supported by people of Japan (as Manaslu was first climbed by Japanese so this area is very much liked by the Japanese)
  16. Trek to Tatopani 1, 240 m - 06 hours. From here onwards towards warmer area with paddy fields and terraces, after a breakfast our journey heads to Tatopani following the Buri Gandaki River, morning walk leads through several small villages of Nagjet, Sidibas Bazaar and Jagat. The walk further descends to Yaruphant, as the walk leads to lower area notice the dramatic change in vegetation, then the day completes after a good walk of near six hours to our overnight stop in a wonderful spot at Tatopani a small farm village with hot spring as Tatopani in Nepali means 'hot water', afternoon time an opportunity to bathe in this natural hot springs and get relaxed. The local believes that the spring water have a natural power to cure various disease and wounds.
  17. Trek to Soti Khola 730 m - 06 hours. After a nice time at Tatopani with the hot spring, morning walk leading on the same path to Soti Khola walking along the Budhi Gandaki River downstream this time on the way back, after hours of good walk reaching at Gurung village of Labubesi, from here walking further through terraced fields and waterfalls then reaching our overnight stop at Soti khola.
  18. Trek to Arughat 600 m - 06 hours. Our last day of trekking, so enjoy the walk to Arughat, after breakfast leading on the downhill path, along the riverbank of Budi Gandaki downstream through dense forest of Sal trees ( Sorea Robusta). Continue walk along the riverbank passing Arkhet Bazaar, on this walk enjoying awesome views of Ganesh II (7,118 m) and Ganesh IV (7,104 m). After a pleasant day walk reaching our last overnight stop in the rural area at Arughat bazaar where this memorable and magnificent trek ends.
  19. Drive back to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel. Leaving Arughat after breakfast with a drive to Kathmandu, enjoying the great panorama of Himalayan tall peaks above the rolling green hills. The drive leads with interesting scenery of surrounding country landscapes, farms, villages and busy towns on route till the journey ends at Kathmandu, in Kathmandu with afternoon free for individual activities.
  20. In Kathmandu optional tours & individual activities. Unique Path reserved this as free day in Kathmandu a full rest day for individual activities or another sightseeing tour at places of interest around Kathmandu valley on request.
  21. International departure for home ward bound. After an exciting and memorable time in Nepal Himalaya and as per your international flight time, Unique Path staff transfer you to airport for your final departure for homeward bound or to respective countries.
